This week was pretty good. It was nice being able to study in the mornings again. We only had 30 minutes to study last week because we were working for 100 hours. lately in study's i have been reading the talks from the last General Conference. One talk I really enjoyed was "ask in faith" by Elder Bednar. One part I really liked was "meaningful prayer requires both holy communication and consecrated work". We express the desires of our heart to the lord through prayer, and we align our will with the lord so that our desires are his desires, then we get off our knees and do all we can to make those desires happen. Prayer is so simple and yet so important. This week on Monday we had a meal with some members, we ate salmon and some curry. the salmon was pretty good. Way better than the pig intestines i ate last week. This week we also got to teach two lessons in English, teaching in English is so much easier! My companion and taught the little kid class for English, normally we teach the advanced class. it was fun trying to teach the kids, but it was super hard. they didn't want to learn English, and we couldn't really communicate. It was good though. Saturday after english class we had a Family Home Evening night, we watched "Joseph Smith the prophet of the restoration" i had to conduct the meeting. It was really hard. then we had a short testimony meeting at the end. It was really good. there where a couple investigators there and the recent convert i baptized a few weeks ago. Sunday there was a baptism and all of the missionaries sang families can be together forever. That was pretty much my week. I hope you all had a great week.

Hey Everyone!

This week we got to meet our new Mission President, President Sonksen. He seems really cool and im excited to serve with him. He is from Ohio, and owns a peanut butter company. We meet him at a zone conference on Thursday. one thing i learned from the zone conference is that Sometimes we have to have the courage, like Peter, to jump out of the boat. If we trust in the Lord enough to jump out of the boat, we will find out that we can walk on the water. sometimes as a missionary we have to jump out of the boat or step out of our comfort zone and talk to someone when we dont think we are good enough at Korean or are scared to talk to someone. But when we have the courage to Step out of the boat we find that the lord helps us by putting words in our mouth and guiding us in what to say. he makes it so we can do things we could not do by our self, like walk on water. I have been able to do many things on my mission that i wouldn't have been able to do with out the Lords help or if i did not have the courage to jump out of the boat.
This week was Independence day, but here in korea there wasn't any Fire works, or parades. But all the elders in our district went to a meat buffet. you would just pick the kind of meat you wanted and then cook it on a grill in the middle of the table. We ate there because it was kind of like a barbecue. We also sang The Star Spangled Banner at English class and America the Beautiful before we started Companionship Study.
This week we also got to eat dinner with a member, 김수영 (Swimming Kim). He served his mission in Provo and speaks really good English. He is going back to america this week to work. that was pretty much my week.

This weeks been good. Its been really hot lately, but yesterday and today it has been raining so that is a nice break. This transfer my companion, Elder Mattinly, is the District Leader so he has to go on exchanges with all the Elders in our district to train them and help them, and since i am his companion i also get to go on exchanges with all the Elders in our District. This week i went on an exchange with Elder Hansen, It was probably one of the funnest exchanges i went on, mostly because Elder Hansen and I were in the MTC together and came to Korea together, But also because Elder Hansen is a great guy. He is from Rex-burg Idaho. It was a really good experience going on an exchange with him because we are both at about the same level of Korean so we didnt have a Senior companion that was really good at Korean to rely on. we had to rely on each other and learn to just make do with what we know.  it was really good and it showed me that i know more then i think i know and that the lord qualifies those who serve him.
This week we also had a Zone Training meeting. That was really good. The Mission president came and we all had interviews with him and we got to know the new president a little better. One thing i learned is that "Love is the essence of the Gospel, love is what qualifies you to serve not skills or knowledge". Our love for God and our love for others is what qualifies us to be a missionary. we don't have to know everything about the Gospel our speak perfect Korean. We just have to love God and love his Children. And then work hard and do our best and the lord will help us with the rest. One thing i learned in study's this week is that the lord has given us everything we have. literally everything we have is because of him. The only thing we can give him that isn't already his is  our will. That is a really hard thing to do. it is hard to give him your will. But we must learn to " Put of the natural man", and if we give him our will our desires, our whole soul. He will make out of us something great.
This Sunday we ate dinner at a members house and I ate a little bit of squid. it was kinda slimy and really chewy, but it was okay.  one of the members son's, Han, is a golden member. He just got back from a study abroad in Iowa so he speaks really good English, and he is really good friends with one of our investigators, and helps us teach lessons. He even went proselyting with us once. Have a great week!

안녕하세요!

This week for P-day we got to go to the temple. It was really great and i was able to really feel the spirit remember the covenants i have made with God and receive spiritual strength to work harder. We also rode our bikes to the Han river and played ultimate Frisbee at the park and did some slack lining. it was really fun. this week we also had a district meeting and my companion trained us all since he is the new district leader. He did a really good job. He shared one quote that i really liked. He said "In all things preach the gospel, and when you need to use words" Our actions and they why we live are just as important if not more important than what we say. I also went on an exchange with elder Wheeler this week and we meet with a potential investigator and ate some goat soup. The goat was really chewy but it was okay. I also ate a  little but of duck meet this week too.

On Saturday my companion had to go and teach the little kids English kids class so me and Elder Hansen taught the advanced class. it went pretty well. I had to give the message almost completely by myself because Elder Hansen did not know what we had planned to teach. But it went well and i think the message was good and i think they understood me. Sunday was really good after church their was a baptism and one of our investigators came. It was really good and he was able to see what baptism was like. Then we also got to teach Jung Samuel, my recent convert. We taught him about the plan of salvation and the commandments. Today we helped a member in our ward move some big appliances. it took a really long time because they were so big and barely fit through the staircase. He moved out to the country and it was really nice to see somewhere that was less city and to get some fresh farm air. After we helped move a bunch of stuff we ate Kimchi' Soup. and now im here emailing. Thats been my week.

7/26/15
This week was pretty good. I went on an exchange with Elder Yetter and learned a lot from his example and good advice. He is really good at speaking Korean and he gave me some ideas to help me study better and apply the things i learn. On Wednesday we had district meeting and i gave a training on how to be diligent. This week we finally have some progressing investigators! we have 3 who are progressing, and 2 with baptismal dates. None of our investigators came to church this week though. But next week we should have at least 2 that come. It has been raining a lot lately, i heard it is monsoon season. It rained so hard on Saturday that only 4 people came to our English class which usually has about 20 people. Our week has been good. This next week will probably be my last week in Nok Beon. i will probably transfer next Wednesday. Idon't want to leave but at the same time im excited to see anew place and meet new people.

안녕하세요!

This week has been great. On Wednesday we had our weekly district meeting and our mission president came. I think my companion was a little bit nervous because the presidnet came. But he did a great Job of training us. He trained us on Enduring to the End. One thing he talked about was not just enduring to the end but thriving to the end. We need to do more but just endure we need to enjoy the journey.
This week we also did a service project, our district went to a day care center for old people and we cleaned and some elders washed dishes. It was good but the said we cant come back to serve again because of our missionary name tags. That doesn't make sense, we cant do service because we have the Saviors name on our name tag.
This week we got Transfer Calls. The neew president is doing transfers different, We only6 get to know if we are going somewhere else and where we are going. We don't get to know who are new companion is until Wednesday at transfers. Transfer calls where pretty surprising though. Everyone thought i would leave because i have been here for 4 transfers. But instead my companion who hasn't been here as long as me is transferring and i am staying, Also another Elder that has only been here for 1 transfer is already leaving. We were all pretty surprised. Im excited to find out who my new companion is and im glad to be staying. I really love this area and i know that this is where God wants me to be.

This week has been really great. First of all I got a new companion, Elder Jung. He is from Korea and is a really hard working Missionary. We lived in the same house together last transfer so we already new each other. this transfer about 20 missionaries went home and not as many came in so some of the areas were closed. My companion transferred and elder Jung's companion went home.
And our two areas were combined. Our zone was also combined with another zone and elder Jung is one of the Zone leaders. I am learning a lot from Elder Jung and i am getting lots of great Korean practice. we almost only talk in Korean to each other. I'm really excited for the opportunity to serve with Elder Jung this transfer.
This Sunday during sacrament meeting I opened up my scriptures intending to open up to the sacrament prayer in D&C 20 but i instead opened up to D&C 18:10-11, 15
10 Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God;
11 For, behold, the Lord your Redeemer suffered death in the flesh; wherefore he suffered the pain of all men, that all men might repent and come unto him.
15 And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!
Jesus Christ suffered for everyone's sins, even for those who wouldn't accept him. We to as missionaries and as members must invite everyone to come unto Christ. Our duty is to give them the opportunity to accept our savior. And if we do all we can to invite them to come unto Christ and the use their agency and reject us our joy will still be great, we succeed when we invite them.
I hope you all have a great week!

-- Elder Cazier

8/16/15This week has been great. I cant believe i have already been on my mission for 8 months. Time is going really fast. This week I went on 2 exchanges. The first one was with Elder Gildea. Our companions are they Zone leaders and they had to go to mettings and prepare for Zone training. I got ot go to a new area and we got to proselyte for the entire day. We meet so many great people and taught a lot of people on the street. The second exchange was with Elder Grover. since my companion is A zone leader he has to go on exchanges and train the district leaders. And i get to go with their companions. I always learn a lot from exchanges. We also had A zone conference and zone training this week. Our mission president talked to us and then our zone leaders trained us. I love working in the Lords vineyard and striving to build up his kingdom.

Family home evening with some ward members. I was the horse.

9/13/15This week was really great. First of all we started out our p day by riding some bikes to the Han river. We Did some slack lining and played some ultimate Frisbee. That night my companion and Had a meal with a member. Then we started an exchange and i went to a different area for two days while our companions went to a leadership meeting and prepared for zone training meeting. we wher on an exchange until Wednesday. Wednesday was our Zone training meeting. that was really good. we learned how to work with members better. Right after the zone meeting i went on a another exchange with our district leader until Thursday. It was really good. It was funny though because my companion and i didn't serve together for almost 4 days. On Saturday my companion and i went to the temple with our recent convert Jung Samuel. It was really good. Then this weekend we had Steak conference. That was really great, there was a lot of really awesome talks. Saturday Evening we received the transfer call. I am going to transfer to Joong Rang, an area on the east side of Seoul. Im sad to leave Noek Beon, i have really come to love this area. This morning we hiked Pookan mountain. The view was spectacular. I always feel closer to God when i am on the top of a mountain. I think that the beauty of this earth is one of the many evidences of the existence of God.  I love Korea. I hope you all have a spectacular week.

안녕하세요!

This week was pretty good, Time is flying really fast though. I've already seen two conferences on my mission. It feels like we just watched last conference a month ago. This conference was really great. I really enjoyed all of the talks and i learned a lot listening to Gods chosen prophets and apostles. I really enjoyed one of the talks By Elder Eyring He talked about how when we do our priesthood duty no matter how big or small that God will magnify and multiply our efforts. I know that is true and i have seen that in missionary work. As we do all we can no matter how weak or insignificant it may be God takes that action and multiplies it and magnifies it to bring about great things. I also really liked the talk by Elder Durrant. He challenged us to ponderize a scripture every week, i think that that is great advice and am going to do it.
This week i got to eat some pretty crazy foods. First my companion took me to a 육회(raw meat)  restaurant and we ate mixed rice with slices of raw cow meat in it, I didnt really like it. the texture of the raw meat was kinda gross. The rice and mixed veggies in it were good though. A couple days later a recent convert took us to eat live octopus and sushi and other sea food. The octopus was kind of scary to eat at first but besides being chewy and a little slimy and still squirmy was pretty good. You had to make sure you chewed it well before swallowing or it could latch onto your throat with its suction cups. The raw fish wasnt that bad either, we also ate salmon eggs, those were pretty wierd. When you would chew they would pop in your motuh,it felt kind of like eating little bubbles The Food was pretty weird but it wasnt as bad as i thought it would be. The worst thing we ate was fried silk worm larva. That tasted gross and had a horrible small and texture. I hope i never have to eat that again.

Fish head, according to my companion the best part.

Hey Y'all!

Hope its going great! It was another great week in Korea for me. It was especially great since it was Christmas. We were awfully busy because we had to do a lot of traveling. I spent a lot of time on a bus this last week. First we headed to Seoul which is about a 3 hour trip from our small town of Sok-Cho situated in the northeast of Korea. We had a mission conference at the mission presidents house. It was great and afterwords they feed us Danish Pancakes and a bunch of other great food. We spent Monday night in Seoul at the Presidents house then we went to the temple Tuesday morning after eating breakfast with the mission president. Then we headed out of Seoul to Won-ju. We spent the night in Won-Ju and the next evening all of the missionaries in our zone came and we did a Christmas Flash Mob. We had a cello and two violinists. That was pretty fun. Then since our house was about 2 hours away by bus we went half way and spent the night in kang-nung and continued on the next day. We didnt get home until Thursday afternoon. Thursday we had district meting then prepared fro the Christmas Party that night. The Christmas Party was a hit. we had dinner to start it off then we the missionaries planned some activities, including one of the Elders coming in dressed up as Santa. Friday we rode a bus for an hour to get to the Branch Presidents house ( He lives out in the country) so we could skype home. The next day we again had to ride a bus to kang-nung where we last one of our district members. One of the Elders went home a few weeks early so he could start school. We came back with the three remaining members of our district. We are now in a trio as the Three musketeers of Sok-cho. Sunday was also pretty exciting. Our Investigator who was baptized last week received the Gift of the holy ghost and two senior couples serving in the temple came to visit. One of the couples is from america and so i was compelled to translate for them. If only elder Bean could have stayed one more day i wouldn't have had to translate. But alas i had to provide translation for two talks and for the meeting. It was nerve wrecking and extremely hard. I learned that even though i have been out for a year now i am still no where near mastering Korean and that i need to study alot more. It was a fun experience though and maybe the congregation learned something from the spirit despite my bad translation. We also had a Christmas miracle. Last week a Mom and her son randomly came to church and this week they came again this time accompanied by her daughter. It was a great week. I hope you all had a great Christmas and i wish you the Happiest New years!

Love,

Elder Cazier

Hey,

This week One of my companions returned home. he left Wednesday morning then that afternoon Our new companion Elder Kim Si Hyon came. My other companion Elder Judd and i both stayed together in Sok Cho. I forgot to take a picture with my new companion but i will be sure to take one this week. Wednesday night we met with one of our investigators. He took us out to eat and we ate Duk Kar Bi which is like a spicy chicken dish. It was so good and is now my favorite Korean food. we taught him the restoration and about baptism. He agreed to be baptized in about a month. He is so prepared and i am pretty sure he will be able to be baptized by then.  On Thursday we proselyted while trying to find some inactive members but they were all not there. Friday we watched a worldwide broadcast for all of the missionaries in the church then planned for the week. The broadcast was really good and they addressed a lot of things that helped us. For example we have started working with a less active member but i have never taught a less active member before and they gave good advice on how to help them come back into the fold. They also talked about the importance of working with members as well as finding through your own efforts. people are a lot more likely to get baptized  and stay active when the have a friend in the Church missionaries and members have to work together. there arent a lot of members in our area but we will try to work with them better and serve them. Sunday we had church than we went with the branch president to a district meeting. There are very few priesthood holders in our branch so Elder Kim and i will be serving as the 1st and 2nd counselors. have a great week and keep warm!

Love,

Elder Cazier

Happy Solnar!

Today is Solnar, or  lunar new Year, one of the biggest holidays in Korea. Today for breakfast we ate Duk Gouk a traditional Korean Soup eaten on Solnar. You.You have to eat it in or order to turn one year older. It is quite delicious and i have eaten it several times this week. So i guess i am now like 24 instead of 20 :P
Anyways This week was another great week. This Wednesday after District meeting we went on exchanges. Elder Kim went to another area and Elder Judd and I were Joined by Elder Megargle. on our way back from district meeting we got on the bus and discovered that we were on the same bus as one of our investigators. We also meet a somewhat crazy guy on the bus. As we moved to our sits this guy saw us and started talking loudly. He basically argued against us the whole ride home. It was somewhat frustrating because he would argue over things that made know sense and didn't matter at all. He was also somewhat drunk and understanding him was quite difficult.  But after arriving in our area he invited us over to his house and his mother feed us dinner. It was a very interesting experience. The next day we went to a recent converts house and taught him a lesson after that we ended our exchange and then we accompanied the recent convert to our Branch Presidents Blueberry farm where we ate Duk Gouk. Our branch president  knows acupuncture and he taught us a little about it and demonstrated it on my companions. It was really interesting. we also played a traditional Game of Yeut. Which is a sort of dice game but the dice are four sticks. It was confusing at first but very fun. Just as most of the snow was starting to melt It snowed again on Friday. We got maybe 6 inches this time. Saturday the roads were really slippery and we fell several times while walking. there were also a lot of cares that got stuck in the road and we were able to help a few by pushing them. We also helped people shovel snow. It was really fun. We then had English class whih went well and then we watched "meet the Mormons" with the branch and English class members and investigators. It went well. Sunday we only had one hour of church because of the holiday. Have a great week!

3/6/16
This week was fantastic. First of all on Tuesday we went to our Branch presidents farm and had a barbecue with some members and one of our investigators. That was really great. Our investigator brought a RC airplane and flew it there but it lost the signal going behind a mountain and crashed. Our investigator is a Helicopter pilot for the military. Wednesday Elder Judd left for Seoul and Elder Kim and i were left alone as the only missionaries out here. But since there are no only two of us instead of three we could ride bikes. Ive always wanted to be a biking missionary and now i can. We went pretty far about 16km there and back mostly in the country and tried to find the houses of a few less active members. It was so fun but my Companion did not really enjoy it. I think we will just have to ride the bus next time :( Thursday was a good day we stayed in sok cho, proselyted, and found some less active members to visit. There are a lot of less active members in Korea. Friday we biked some more this time towards the mountains. It was great the air was so clean and crisp. Sok cho is so great. Saturday we had lunch with a member and then taught English class. after English we taught So young duk our most progressing investigator we taught with 2 members and we taught all of the commandments. He accepted it well and he is getting ready to be baptized in 2 weeks. He is in the military and recently some soldiers died in a crash and he wants the guidance and understanding that comes from the gospel. He also wants to have the gift of the holy ghost that can guide him and warn him of danger. Sunday was also really great we attended church and taught Young mens class. After church we went out to some farm country this time we rode the bus and walked. my companion was still beat up from the other two days we rode bikes. Im not sure if he will let us ride bikes again. ph well it was good while it lasted. Today wa P-day and so we woke up early and went hiking. We hiked up to some big rocks called Urlsan rocks. It was so beautiful. We could see almost all of our area. we could see all the way to the ocean too. There were also several Buddhist temples one of which was inside a cave and a huge Buddha statue it was really interesting and quite fun. This week was one to remember. I love being out here in the more remote parts of Korea.

3/13/16
It was another great week out in the country side of Korea. I really love being here, closer to nature with less people and less noise. i was never a big an of the big city. We still live in a city but it is a lot smaller and its right by the mountains and the ocean. Its also surrounded by forest and farms which i love.
This week we traveled to the more northern part of our area looking for inactive members. We had to ride a bus for almost an hour just to get there. Finding addresses is so hard in Korea. We look them up on the internet or on our map, if it is an area we have a map for, and then we go find it. However the address system is so confusing out here and the houses are all jumbled together in a manner that makes no sense. My Korean companion has just as much trouble finding them as me. Im fairly good at directions so i can get us to the area especially if ive been there before but finding the exact address is so hard sometimes. sometimes it just wont exist. But it has been really fun trying to find them and getting to travel to some remote areas. We often just end up asking everyone we can in the neighborhood if they know them and then we found out that they moved or something.
Yesterday a kid saw me as we were walking down the street  in a really small town up north and said "whoa it is a foreigner!" and then i turned and looked at him and said "Whoa it's a Korean" he was pretty surprised to see a foreigner way out in the sticks and was even more surprised when i understood what he said and talked back to him in Korean. It was pretty funny and i made him laugh.
This Saturday we taught our investigator, Brother So,the last lesson. We taught right after English class and we had a potential investigator, the sisters investigator, and 2 members attend. It was pretty crazy having so many people attend our lesson but it was great. Nothing really special happened this week but we are having a good time and tying to work hard.

3/20/16
Hey everyone,

It was another great week out here in Korea. I went two exchanges this week but it seemed like three. I first went on an exchange with Elder Mortenson my MTC companion. It was pretty fun serving with him again. Then i went on an exchange with Elder Ellingford but we go to there a little late and they had to go to an appointment so they went on splits with the other elders to go teach so for half the exchange i was with elder Hall a new elder in our district. It was good getting to know him and we taught a recent convert together. Then for the rest of the exchange i was with Elder Ellignford. We taught a recent convert, English class and we shared the message for English class. We shared a parable about hiking and talked about how when we go hiking we need certain things like food and water and other gear or else we wont be able to make it all the way to the top of the mountain. We compared that to life and how in this life we need spiritual nourishment and spiritual tools that God has prepared for us. If we use the gear God has given us like the sciptures we can make it to the top of the mountain or in other words back into his presence. It was really fun sharing a message that was about something i love doing and relating it to the gospel. Friday we wnt and had a barbecue at our branch presidents house. It was really good. Korean Barbecues are a lot more delicious than American ones. instead of having hambrgers and hot dogs they cook meat and then wrap it in a peice of lettuce with rice, garlic, some spicy sauce and other things. It has a lot more flavor.
Sunday we had a Baptism. I had the Privilege of Baptizing our investigator So Youn Duk. The day of the baptism was a bit Hectic. We did all we could and tried to prepare well and stil it was a little hectic bat all worked out great. First Because our investigator is a soldier he got called in to work for an emergency drill and had to leave before sacrament meeting was finished but he was able to get back in time for the baptism. And then the branch presidents wife left the Baptismal clothes at there house which is 40 minutes away so he went to go get them after Sunday school so we switched the order of the baptism and had lunch first. Then after we had filled up the font we turned it off so it wouldn't overflow but some of the water drained out so i had to baptize him in somewhat shallow water. I got to Baptize him three times. The first time hs knee came up because the water was shallow, and the second time i said a wrong word and so we had to do it three times. But the third time was the Charm.  despite being a little stressful it was a great experience for him and the members. All in all it was another fantastic week toped of with a baptism.
Our Branch president cooking some meat at his farm.

Our investigators baptism.

3/27/16
This week was another good one. (i never know how to start these letters). Brother So youn duk was confirmed yesterday and we had a new investigator come to church. I found him through calling and invited him to church. He really liked church and liked how everyone felt like a family. Our Branch members are really great at fellowshiping and welcoming visitors. This Sunday Elder Clark the second counselor  in the mission presidency visited our branch. He served a mission in Korea and has now been living in Korea for 15 years. He works for Subway restaurants and owns a few stores as well as working for Subway Corporation in Korea. Subway has been in korea for a while but it didn't do very well and there where a lot of problems but he has fixed a lot of the problems and subway is now doing a lot better in Korea. It was cool meeting him and talking about subway. This week i went on an exchange with Elder Hall a younger missionary and it was really great. We rode bikes around the whole city in search of less actives. It was really fun. I wish my companion  Elder Kim would let us ride bikes more often he really it is way more fun then just walking everywhere and a lot cheaper then riding the bus. We also got to talk to lots of cool people while riding our bikes. Maybe my next companion will enjoy bikes more. But then i might transfer to another area where they don't have bikes. Oh well i didn't come on a mission to ride bikes i came on a mission to teach the restored Gospel and i can do that with or without a bike. This week we had dinner with our recent convert. Jean Youn ill,  We ate Chiken feet. It was pretty gross but it is one of his favorite foods so my companion bought it for him. I only ate one and that was enough for me. it was a good experience though and i hope i never have to eat chiken feet again. All in all we had a great week were able to find a new investigator and our recent covert received the Gift of the Holy Ghost.

4/10/16
This week was another great one. For P-day we went on a short hike and the view was great. We also  helped our branch President with some work on his Blueberry farm. We put in some irrigation pipes and planted mushrooms in some Logs. It was really fun and the fed us a delicious lunch and dinner. This week we also had a zone training meeting and after the training meeting The Assistants to the President ran a Skills Workshop. They trained us on skills like Inviting to be baptized and several other Skills we need to always be developing and improving as Missionaries. Then we got to Practice on members. There where several members that volunteered their time and came so we could practice. it was very Helpful and they gave us some great feedback. This week we got to Watch General Conference which was really great. Saturday a member came and brought us lunch in between the 2 sessions and then we watched the second session together. The members are so great out here. Sunday almost every one came and one of our investigators came as well. It was really great. I love listening to the words of the Prophets and i know that they are the servants of God. This week we got transfer calls and we will both be staying. There will be some sisters coming to our branch and we will again have our own district out here which will be nice since we wont have to travel an hour every week for District Meeting. All is going great I am so grateful to be serving the Lord and to be here in Korea. I hope you all have a great week.

Sincerely,

Elder Cazier

4/17/16It feels like spring is finally here. The flowers are blooming and the farmers are planting their fields. I love the Spring. This week was another good one filled with lots to learn. This week we had some additions to our district which was nice. the sister area opened up again. So now that we aren't the only team up here we wont have to go an hour away every week for district meeting. Ill miss sleeping on the bus but we will have a few more hours every week to teach repentance and baptize converts which will be great. Wednesday we went to our branch presidents farm and had a barbecue with an investigator, Tae young. He is a pretty cool kid that has been coming to church for a couple weeks now this week we gave him a baptismal date for the 22 of May. I'm looking forward to another great week in the service of the Lord.

Have a great week and remember to Smile :)

Love,

This week was pretty awesome. Today we went Hiking to Sorak san with some other Elders in ur Zone and we had a blast. We also had some awesome opportunities to teach the gospel while hiking. We met and saw people from all over the world. We meet 2 people in particular from Vancouver Canada One was a member but isn't active. He heard another missionary talking to someone else on the bus about the gospel and recognized it and when he got off he came up to us and said he is a member of our church. We hooked him up with someone in Seoul he could contact to get in touch with the English branch there. We talked to him and his friend all the way up the mountain and i gave his friend a small English copy of the Book of Mormon that i brought with me to read on the mountain. The crazy thing was i almost didn't bring it but i felt like i should bring it so i stuck it in my bag and i ended up needing it. Teaching the gospel is so much easier in English. ive gotten to the point where i am pretty good at Korean but im still no where near fluent. I think it would take 20 years to be fluent in Korean. but i love learning the Language and its a great challenge. I think Spanish will be so easy for me to learn after learning Korean.
This week we also went to our branch presidents farm again this time to help with some labor. We helped him prepare planters for blueberries. It was hard work and was really fun. We also took a recent convert with us and worked together. It was really great and was nice to do some more physical labor for a change. Our investigator Tae young is doing pretty good. He seems pretty excited about baptism. All in all this week was great.

This week was good. On wednesday Elder and sister Cannon came out to our area fixed a few thing in our house and attehded district meeting. Its always cool seeing them because they are from Kennewick and and are from the same ward as Grandma and Grandpa Cazier. I translated district meeting for them which was also really fun. Learning Korean is a challenge but it is a good challenge and i enjoy learning it. The Cannons also brought mail and i git a Package from Grandma Cazier. It was also cool because her friends brought it.   Friday we meet a man from Cammaroon and talked to him about the restoration. He was really nice and we knew his proffesser. His proffeser used to be our investigator. We also meet a guy that needed help getting home so we helped him get a bus ticket and he lived in americe for 15 years and he had even been to the tricities and knew where Pasco Washington was. I think that was the first person ive meet that had been to Pasco on my mission. Usually when i tell people i am from washington state they think i am from Washingtin D.C. Anyways, i talked to him in english too and that was prety fun. Prosolyting in english is a lot easier but i like the challenge of Korean. Saturday we ate at a sushi buffet with a member. it was pretty good. Sunday we had church which was really great. Our recent convert hasnt come to church for about 3 weeks because of work and going to his hometown to visit family but he came this week. He woke up early and drove for 4 hours to come to church. He suprised us because he originally wasnt going to be able to make it this week either. But he came  and it was really cool to see him again and he even got up and spoke during Fast and testimony meeting. this week i also got in a fight with a wild Bull and won. It was quite the experience. I will attach pictures below. Haha, I hope you all have a breat week and dont have to fight with any wild bulls.

Hey yall,

This week was great. Wednesday we had a Zone conference which was great. We got trained by the zone leaders on how we can be better missionaries. We learned how to use our time more effectively and to focus on doing the activities that will bring about the most results. It was good and we are trying to apply the things we leaned this week. Thursday was really fun It was Children's day so everyone was out of school for the rest of the week and we had a branch activity at the branch presidents blueberry farm. We at grilled pork Korean style wrapped in lettuce with red pepper paste and other things wrapped inside it, the best way to eat meat. In my opinion better then a hamburger. we also played some games and I helped build some shade and fix a fence. Serving out here in a small branch is the best. There's lots of country side and the members are like a small family. This weekend we had district conference. all of the branches met together on Saturday and Sunday. For the Saturday evening session we had a special Easter musical concert. In Seoul they did it around Easter but since the members li so far away we had it included as part of the conference so that the members could come. It was really great. Missionaries from seoul came and performed. It was amazing the music was so great and so spiritual. There was a choir, several smaller musical numbers and some amazing violinists and pianists. My trainer came to perform in the concert as well and it was good seeing him again. The Sunday session was also great. The theme of the conference was "because i believe in Christ" all of the speakers spoke on that topic and it was really great. A recent convert from the Kang Rung branch that i had the privilege of teaching a couple times on exchanges also spoke. He is 89 years old was a Jehovah's witness before Receiving the restored gospel just a few months ago. He is so awesome. Our branch sang a musical number of "Through Deepening trials" during the conference which was great. It turned out really well too. Well that's pretty much this week summed up. Love you and hope you have a great week.

Howdy yall!( I got bored of saying hey),
This week was a good on monday we went to the Branch presidents house and we helped him plant some blueberries. It was pretty fun work and our branch president is really fun. He was signing along to the neigbors radio well he worked. thats how you should do any work, have fun while you do it. This week we found a cool investigator, So hyon-oo. I meet him on the bus back to our area from zonetraining lasy week. At first i was finda frustrated because we got on the bus and almost all of the seats where full and it was really crowded, and i dint really enjoy crowded busses, but it gave me the opportunity to sit down right next to this guy. I talked to him the whole bus ride home which was about an hour and tiught him the restoration and gave him a Book of Mormon. It was really great and i feel like God put our paths together. If there wernt so many people on the bus we probably woulndnt have sat next to eachother or if we caught a different bus we probably would never have met. Anyways we met him again this week and commited him to read a chapter of the Book of Mormon every day before studing and to pray about it. He said he would. After the lesson we went and ate dinner together. It was great. When i find prepared people like him it makes me want to work harder and it makes the hard times and all of the rejections worth it. Well, i hope y'all had agreat week and remember that God loves you and because he loves you,and me,and all of us, he sent his on Jesus Christ to Atone for our sins and pave the way back to Him, Our loving Father in Heaven. I know that is true and i am so thanful for his atoning sacrifice and infinite love that can set us free if we accept him follow him and serve him by serving others. Stay strong and have a blessed week.

Anyang!

Its been another fantastic week in the service of the lord. Monday we went on a short hike to a small mountain, really more like a hill. its about the size of badger mountain. Then we went shopping for study supplies and got some cool notebooks. After p-day was all over we went and visited Brother Jin Young Ir A recent convert. We have been visiting him about twice a week lately and just spending time with him and studying Conference talks with him.  He is old and lives alone so we try to keep him company. This week we got a big Book of Mormon for him that we are planing to give him today to make it easier for him to read. Friday we visited Jin Young Ir again and talked to him while we sat near the ocean. Then we meet the family of a returned missionary that served here. they were all at the church along with the branch president and his family. Then that night we got on a bus and rode to Seoul. It was really weird going back to Seoul and riding the subway again and seeing so many people. ive gotten used to not seeing as many people here in Sokcho. We stayed the night at the presidents house then the nest day Wednesday we had A mission tour with Elder Yamashita of the Seventy and one of the counselors in the Asia North area presidency. That took almost the whole day and we learned a great deal. then we got on a bus and came back to our area. It felt good to be back. Thursday we meet with Lee Jae Ho and we taught him the Plan of salvation. We also committed him to be baptized and he accepted. It was great. We also visited jin young Ir again and stopped by and visited our investigator Pee jae hyon at the butcher shop he works at and shared a scripture with him. Fridat the zone leaders came to our area and we did a street boarding activity with them then i went with Elder Policky to kang rung on exchanges. Saturday during exchanges we visited a recnt convert and helped him write a talk for sacramnet meeting then taught English class. We also meet Go Pyon An and taught him about Prayer and baptism. He said he would get baptized and accepted a date. Its really fun teaching people.  Sunday we had church, We taught brother Kim Yoon Sung the young man in our ward about missionary work and are working to help him prepare for a mission. After church we proselyted and visited a few people we know and tried to see if the had some time to let us share a message but they were all busy. or not home. We will have to keep trying. Today we got up a little early at 6 and went Hiking. We we hiked to the highest peak in Soraksan national park. It has an elevation of about 1708m and in all we hiked about 15km ( I think thats about 9 miles) it was very difficult but it was super fun and we meet a guy from Austria on the top and we hiked all the way down the mountain with him and were able to tell him what we were doing in Korea and introduce our beliefs. It was really great. That was our week summed up. Its hard to tell you all the awesome things that happen out here so much happens every day and i am having such a great time. have another great week and remember that God loves you and you are his child ( Romans 8:16).

Peace out till next week,

6/26/16
Hey Y'all,

It was another fantastic week. Lots of great stuff happened this week.
Monday we went hikeing and then visited a recent convert brother jin young ir and had FHE with him. It was fun we brought bannana bread for the treat and played a simple game and shared a message.
Tuesday we went to a college and did a survey we asked people if they have ever wonderd about questions like "What is the purpose of life?" or "Does God exist?" it went well but school gets out next week so they were all going home for vacation so we were not able to get any appointments. After that we went to Rodem cafe and we taught the plan of salvation to an investigator. Wednesday we had district meeting which went pretty well. I talked about Sharpening our sickle and about how we can sharpen our sickle sp we can be a better tool in God's hand.
Thursday we went to another smaller college only to find no one there. at least no students. we did find one elderly man and gave him a restoration pamphlet. We then went to Rodem and taught a short lesson with an investigator. We also meet a new investigator will we were walking. a guy said Water while making a drinking gesture telling us he would give us some water. so we followed him to his office and sat down and he gave us water and we talked to a few of the other people there then we met the boss who was a gut we met a few days earlier and gave a Book of Mormon. So we sat down with him and taught him a lesson. it was really interesting and awesome.  I guess he saw us walking by so he sent his employee to get us.
Friday we visited our friends at the butcher shop and then did a proselyting activity with our district.
Saturday we had lunch with a member then english class and a cooking activity. i taught how to make Banana bread and while we waited for it to cook we played a card game. We then cleaned the church with a member and set up chairs for sunday.
Sunday My companion and one of the sisters gave a talk. they did relly great. And we had someone come to church. It was a guy we meet on the street and gave a Book Of Mormon and a map to the church. He jsut showed up and he is going to keep coming. It was awesome.
Thats all for this week. Looking forward to more great things next week.

7/3/16
Hey,

It was another fantastic week. Monday we visited a member and shared a conference talk and drank orange juice. Tuesday we rode bikes to Jin young irs house a recent convert and had Family home evening with him. We shared a message about repentance and forgiveness and Played Yut nori a traditional Korean game. It was great we made him smile and brightened up his day. ive come to learn that its the little things like making someone smile that really matter. Sometimes small things like that can have such an impact. We then visited our investigators at Rodem cafe. We then had english class. It was the first time having English class on Tuesday, and for the first time we had a good turnout of 2 people. better than no one right? Wednesday we had district meeting which went well. Leading district meeting is hard but i learn a lot as prepare for it. It also been fun being district leader and getting to help the members in our district. We Thursday we went back to Rodem cafe and we taught a lesson. We then visited Jin Young ir again. friday we had dinner with a member and got soaked in the rain. even with umbrellas because it came down so hard, It only kept our heads dry. Saturday we had a great day with 3 lessons. our first appointment didnt show up but everything else after that worked out great. We meet with Kim Won Tek and he accepted a baptismal date. we then had English class and then after that we had chicken with a member. Then a guy we knew who said he was going to come to english class showed up and we taught him a lesson and gave him a book of Mormon. we then cleaned the church then had dinner with an investigator we ate spicy Jam Bong a type of noodle soup/ It was really great and we had a great lesson as well. then that night Was transfer calls. I learned that i will be transferring to a knew area. Ive been in this area for 7 months now and its really sad to have to leave. I got to know lots of people and got really close with the branch members. but its Gods will for me to go and i will do my best in my new area. Sunday we had church and we had 2 investigators come. then after church we did a proselyting activity as a district. That was pretty much this week. Its been a great one.
I wish you all the best!

7/10/16
Hey ya'll!

It's been a crazy but good week. I miss my last area but i'm adjusting well to the new area and i already new some of the members because its within the same mission district and i meet some of them at district conference and other activities. So the first part of our week was in my old area abd we were really busy we only had Monday and Tuesday to say goodbye to everyone. Monday a member took us to lunch then we met with an investigator then visited a member,  shared a message and  had dinner with my recent convert. We ate a delicious spicy chicken dish. I really don't know how to describe it but it was delicious. Then Tuesday we went to the branch presidents farm and had lunch with him. it was great He gave us some blueberries from his farm and they were the best ive ever tasted. Then we had a few other appointments and  went to a members house to give a blessing. We then had English class and we had a good turnout. Then Wednesday morning i left Sokcho and headed to Wonju, my new area. Its been good so far. My new companion is elder Diamante from the Philippines. Hes really great. The new city is quite a bit bigger than my last city and there is no ocean here so i miss it, but i think ill like it here. the branch is also quite a bit bigger so memorizing the manes will be a little harder. there is about 30 members here. All in all it was a good week and im excited to get to know and love this new area.

7/18/16
Hey Ya'll!

Its been a fabulous week here in Korea. Last Monday we went shopping at a World mart and my companion bought some Phillipino food; he is from the Philippines. And we went to a Thrift store and i got a full suit for 20 bucks. Tuesday we met Jin. He is studying to be a Police officer. He is a really cool kid. We taught him about the plan of salvation and i could see the spirit their helping him understand it. We also invited him to be baptized and he accepted a date Its cool how the spirit can help enlighten our understanding. We also visited a member and taught English class. Teaching English is pretty fun. I teach the basic class. Wednesday we went to Kangrung for Zone meeting. We learned a lot, like how to be a positive missionary. Thursday we met nick We taught him and then he took us out to eat. We then went out to a small city near Won Ju to check it out and talked to some people there. We meet two guys from Russia there too. It was pretty hard to communicate since they didn't know English and none of us where native Korean speakers. It was fun though and they were nice. Friday we meet Lee Hyon Myong a 20 year old guy who is fly at english. actually all of the investigators we meet this week are pretty good at english and we taught in english. Teaching in english is so much easier.  But i like the challenge of teaching in korean. Saturday we went and cooked at a Welfare Center for old people. thats our weekly service project then we had english class and a game night at the church. Sunday we had church and my companion and i taught the youth again. It was so hard but also fun. The youth are really great to be around. We then had lunch with the members. And then we, the missionaries prepared and practiced for a musical number we will sing sometime in the near future. It was a great week!
This week while studying I really enjoyed this quote from General Conference and feel like sharing it with y'all

"With the gift of the Atonemenof Jesus Christ and the strength of heaven to help us, we can
improve, and the great thing about the gospel is we get credit for trying, even if we don’always succeed." Elder Jeffrey R. Holland may 2016 General conference

Hope you all have a fantastic week and remember to keep trying!

7/31/16
Hi Yall!

This week was another good one a hot one but a good one. Lately we have been practicing for a musical number our district will sing in sacrament. That has been fun. I will be signing a duet with one of the other Elders. This week we also had our first Branch choir meeting after church. Elder Peterson is the conductor. We are hoping that the choir will help increase the unity in our branch so we can more effectively do missionary work with the members. For the first meeting we had a great turnout and the members enjoyed it. One of our investigators is Jin Nam Jin. He is a really cool guy who is studying to be a police officer. He is studying really hard to pass an upcoming test that he has to take to get a job as a police officer.  Yesterday i finished reading the Book of Mormon in Korean. That was really cool and really hard. Now my goal is to finish the New Testament and the Book of Mormon  in Korean before  the end of my mission. Well besides that not much happen'd this week

 Below is Our District

8/8/16
It's been another great but hot week in Wonju. Tuesday we meet one of our investigators Nick. He is really cool and we are working with him to help him quite smoking and get ready for baptism. We also had English class. Honestly teaching English is really fun. I teach the basic class which is probably the funnest class, at least in my opinion. Wednesday President came to our area and we had interviews. And then we had district meeting. There were 16 people at district meeting including the president and his wife, the Assistants, a senior couple, the zone leaders and a companionship from soul who came for a special Proselyting activity. And i was in charge of the training. Talk about pressure! normally there are 6 missionaries at district meeting. It was fun though and it went well. After district meeting we had a special musical Proselyting activity. It was awesome. A companionship from Seoul, and one of them played the piano and the other one played the violin. It was amazing. I then went to Kangrung with one of the zone leaders and we taught a cool lesson with a member and tried to do music proselyting at the beach but due to a loud speaker blaring music we had to scratch that plan and retreat to the downtown area. Saturday we had an activity with the young men and English class. then Sunday we had church. We had a new investigator come to church. It was great. Today, that is Monday we hiked up to the top of Chi-ak Mountain. It was a great hike. On top of the mountain there are three huge rock towers. It was an awesome hike. Thanks be to God for creating the beautiful mountains.
Well that's all for this week. Stay safe and be happy.

Elder Cazier

P.S.
Sorry i don't have any pictures this week. I failed to bring my Card adapter. I will have some next week.

8/14/16
Well this week i will be transferring to  the 춘천(Choon Chun) area. It was kind of unexpected because both my companion and i are being transferd and this has only been my first in this area. I thought this was going to be my last area. But i am looking forward to the new area and im glad its still out in the country side as opposed to being in Seoul. I really enjoy serving in small branches and even though my new area is a ward and is part of a steak i have been told that it is very small and is basically a branch.
Anyways this week has been good. Monday we Hiked to the top of 치악산(Chiak Mountain) which was really fun and awesome. On the top there are three huge rock mounds and the view was great. Then we had a Musical proselyting activity with the district which was a blast. Several members came out to support us and random people bought us drinks to keep us cool.
Tuesday I went on exchanges with elder peterson. we looked for some lessactive members and took some cake and a message card to a member who was feeling sick. We also had english class.
Wednesday we went Kangrung for zone meeting. That took up most of the day with traveling and meetings. The meeting was great and i learned a lot
Thursday and friday nothing special really happend.
Saturday we wernt able to go to our regular service activity cooking fro old people, They told us not to come anymore. They didnt like Foreigners from a weird church that not many people know about. If inly they knew what they were missing out on and what we really had at our church. So instead we picked up trash in he streets for our service. It was really fun and i feiiled up a trash bag in about an hour. Yeah there is lots of trash.
Sunday we had church which was great. Nick our investigator came to church. and we tought Sunday school and young Mens classes. Then we had lunch with the members.

That was pretty much our week. It was great. Hope ya'll had a great week to.

8/28/16
Its already been another week. This week was pretty good. Monday we played some ping pong and basketball at the church for p-day. Tuesday we went out to one of our service projects where we teach English. After class one of the members took us to there house for dinner. Their house was way out in the country by a big river. It was really beautiful. Wednesday we went to Seoul for a Missionary meeting. We learned about how we can use Family history to help find people to teach and lots of other really great stuff like how to work with members more effectively. Thus week we picked up a really cool investigator. Han Gun Sue He is an officer in the military and is really smart. We talked about families with him and lots of other stuff he has lots of interest in the gospel and is a really smart guy. Saturday and Sunday we had stake conference but since our area is so far a way we(the missionaries) couldn't go but we went Sunday and that was really good. Our ward rented out a bus and we all went together. We learned lots of stuff like the importance of remembering, and that we succeed in missionary work when we invite people to act. I also got to meet several people from some of the areas I served in before and that was really cool too. Oh and last night when we were eating dinner we saw a beautiful double rainbow that stretched across the whole sky. It was breathtaking.

9/5/16
Korea is such a beautiful country. It reminds me of the Appalachian mountains i used to live in. This week has been another fantastic week.
Tuesday we went to the temple. it was my first time going this year. I had been in far away areas so i wasn't able to go but now we are close enough to Seoul that we get to go. But we are still pretty far away so we went Monday night and spent the night at the presidents house. Going to the temple was great. it really refreshed my spiritual batteries. One thing that one of the speakers from our recent steak conference said was that if we got to the temple once a month it can sometimes be inconvenient because we have to move schedules and such but that if we go every week then it just becomes a way of life and a part of our schedule. I think that is great advice. Tuesday after the temple we went to a museum about King Sae Jong one of the greatest kings of Korea and the inventor of the Korean alphabet which is probably the best and easiest to learn alphabets. You can learn how to read and write it in less than one day of study.
Anyways, this Wednesday we had district meeting and we learned how to teach and got to practice teaching each other and had English class.
Thursday we went to our bishops house and did some service we picked up some trash and then he treated us to dinner.
The next day Friday we went and helped do some work on the bishops' neighbors' farm picking some red peppers. that was pretty fun. We then planned for the week and went on exchanges with the zone leaders.
Saturday i was in the zone leaders area and we had to plan for a FHE. We decided to do a DIY workshop so we got stuff to make picture frames to put a picture of Christ in. Then after preparing that we had English class and then i returned to my area.
Sunday we had church and there was also a special Fireside called the Special Korean Fireside. It was broadcasted over the internet and we watched at the  ward building with the bishop and his family.
Monday that is today, we went and Hiked 화악산 (Hwa ak san/Great Peaceful Mountain) It was a super fun hike my companion and i didnt see a single other hiker the whole way and had the trail all to ourselves. It was great to get some fresh mountain air and get the blood flowing.
Well that All for this week. Have a good one and don't forget to stop and admire the flowers.

9/18/16
This week was pretty sweet. It was Korean Thanksgiving (추석) one of the biggest 2 holidays in Korea. It took place this year on the 15th. It is always on the biggest fall moon of the year. People celebrate the harvest and give thanks and remember their ancestors and spend time with their family's. Traffic is always really bad because almost everyone goes to their hometown to visit family. Anyways Monday we had Family Home evening with some ward members. We played a game and watched "The Other Side of Heaven". Tuesday we went to our weekly english service class but only one student was there so we instead ended up playing pool with some of seniors there and taught them the american style of pool. Wednesday was our pday. It was moved because wednesday everyone goes to there hometown for the holiday so we dont have much to do as far as missionary work is concerned. Then thursday we went to Chooseok conference. at the Mission office. We wen ton a walk to the top of a hill overlooking Seoul, learned about The restoration and the Prophet Joseph Smith, played some traditional korean games, learned about Chooseok and we ate Subway sandwiches for lunch provided by the Mission. It was great. I missed eating Subway sandwiches. There aren't a lot of subway restaurants in Korea. Friday was still part of the holiday so everyone in our mission did deep cleaning of our houses. that was pretty fun and its nice to have a sparkling clean house. Saturday we meet with a referral from a member. we had lunch together then showed him the church and taught the first lesson with the member. It was really awesome. Sunday we had church. My companion gave a talk about Sacrifice. it was pretty good. All in all it was a fantastic week.

P.S. Forgive my poor English. I think ill have to go back to english class when i get home.
                         High on the mountain top!

9/26/16
Hey,

Another weeks  just flown by. The past 6 weeks feel like they've only been onbe week. in a few days my companion will be going home and i will be getting a Greenie fresh from the MTC. Yep, Im training. Im excited.
This week was great. we picked up a new family that we are teaching. The Mom called us and wanted to study english with us. Her kids are members but they dont come out currently. so we went over and we meet with the Mom her Son that is the same age as us and her Mom's friend/ it was pretty great we started out sharing a meesage and they asked some great questions that lead right into the restoration. then after teaching the lesson we taught some english. This week we also some some progress with the Guy we picked up last week. He came to Sacrament meeting and he also brought his roommate with him. Its cool to finally see some good progress in the area. It wil be good to have some people to teach so my new companion can have lots of opportunities to teach. Today My companion and i went and hiked a mountain and saw some sweet waterfalls. And then later tonight we will be having a ward good bye party for my companion and a sister that is transferring. It's sad to see my companion leave i only got to be with him for 6 weeks. Well thats about all i got to say for this week.

Love ya'll

10/9/16
Hey,

Monday we went and did some hiking for our p-day. We went and saw a water fall and we met a guy while hiking and taught him a lot about the gospel and gave him a Book of Mormon. we always seem to meet cool people and have cool opportunities to teach the gospel when we go hiking. I think its because the environment is more relaxing and because they aren't so busy and they actually have time to listen to what we say. Tuesday we had our usual English teaching service project and now we have also started playing pool with the elderly their and they really enjoy it. Wednesday we had Zone training so we had to ride the train for a while and were able to talk to a few people while traveling. Thursday we had some open time so we hit the streets and talked to people. Then Friday we went and helped our Bishops neighbor harvest Sweet Potatoes. we first had to cut all of the leafs off so we could dig out the potatoes. Saturday and Sunday we watched General Conference. I enjoyed elder Hollands talk about Home teaching during the priesthood session. Then today being Monday we went back and did some more Harvesting of Sweet potatoes. this time the easier picking them out of the soil cleaning them up and boxing them. we also harvested some sesame. It was hard but fun work. It felt good to do some physical labor and to serve others.
Harvesting Sweet potato

10/16/16
This week was another great one. We went and thrusted in our sickles at a farm harvesting Sesamee, sweet potatoes, and red peppers. we had a zone training meeting, exchanges with the zone leaders, a leadership meeting and new investigator. And i gave a talk in church about the word of wisdom. This week our mission is starting Operation Keystone. We are reading the Book of Mormon together as a mission and will finish on the first of December. We started today. I love reading the Book of Mormon and i learn something new every time i open it.

Have a great week!

The end is near...

This last week was good. Wednesday was my companions birthday and some English class members brought a cake for him. It made his day. Thursday we had a dinner at the bishops house and had a birthday party for my companion/ birthday party for one of the sisters/farewell party for me and one of the sisters who is also going home. We ate some delicious Bulgogi. Friday we took Kim June and Gun-Ho out to eat. we ate Duk Karbi a spicy chicken dish that has become one of my favorite foods. It is a special of the area. Saturday we had English class and a Ping pong game night with some of the members. We also got to teach an old guy that walked in into the church. We taught him how to pray and prayed with him. Saturday night we got transfer calls and i found out i will be transferring to the Pasco Washington 2nd ward.... wasn't expecting that one ;)... The sisters area will also be closing so my companion will be left the lone survivor. He will be getting a new companion and a new Elders team will be coming. So on Sunday we all 3 gave a farewell talk. Sunday there was also a primary presentation. There is only one primary kid the Bishop's 5 year old daughter so it was interesting. The primary teacher and the parents also participated and the bishops's family sang a beautiful trio of "love is spoken here". after church we had a meal together with the members. after church we visited a member who is in the hospital. He is doing really well and is just getting his heart checked up on since he had surgery a few days ago. But he appreciated the visit. Then we went home and fixed up our house so it would be ready for the new elders.
